PNG to JPG Converter

PNG files are incredible for graphics and logos because they support transparent backgrounds. But there's a huge downside: they generate massive file sizes, especially for regular photographs.

If you try to upload a 10MB PNG photo to a website, an email, or a student portal, you'll probably get hit with an 'exceeds maximum file size' error. Converting that massive PNG straight to a JPG immediately shrinks the file down to a fraction of its original weight, making it widely acceptable everywhere.

This is the most common issue people face. JPG files literally cannot physically support transparent backgrounds. It's just not built into the file format.

When you run your transparent PNG through our converter, we have to fill in that empty space. By default, our tool smoothly replaces the transparent background with a solid white canvas, ensuring your logo or graphic still looks perfect and clean when it becomes a JPG.

PNG keeps every pixel exactly and supports transparency, which suits logos and screenshots. JPG compresses photographs far better, so a photo saved as PNG can be several times larger than it needs to be. Converting to JPG is a good way to shrink photos for email, uploads and websites.

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid colour. It also uses lossy compression, which can add faint artefacts around sharp text and edges, so keep the PNG if you may need a perfect copy. If you need to go back, use JPG to PNG, and for web use consider JPG to WebP.
